Samantha Strom
Founder and Dance Instructor
When she was a baby, Sam’s mom used to bring home how-to videos from work, which completely captured Sam’s attention. When she saw the How to Do Ballet video, she got up and started following along. Thus, her love of dance was born.
In 2012, Samantha joined the Bradley Swingers, Bradley University’s swing dance society. She fell in love with it, and started choreographing for them in 2013, was elected VP in 2014, and started teaching the classes in 2015.
Matt Schmidt
Instructor and DJ
Matt has been an avid musician, swing dancer, and DJ for many years, and is poised be your co-instructor and DJ at Swing Out Helena! Matt has been an active member of local music and dance communities everywhere he’s lived, including Chicago, Bozeman, Lewistown, and now Helena. As a pro DJ and sound tech, his gigging experience spans the spectrum from clubs, weddings, live music, karaoke / open mic, dance events and more.
Matt’s teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a fun and relaxed atmosphere where there’s time and space to socialize while learning the skills you need to be ready for action at any occasion.
